Be sure and visit the National Aquarium; it's right there at Inner Harbor. Watch the dolphins and walk through a rainforest. Mount Vernon Square is considered by some the cultural heart of Baltimore. In the center of the square is the first Washington Monument designed by Robert Mills and completed in 1829, before he designed the better known one in DC. Nature lovers will find Druid Hill Park, and the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore, a great place to spend an afternoon. Check out the Star-Spangled Banner Flag House and Fort McHenry where the Americans held off the British attack that inspired Francis Scott Keys. Babe Ruth Museum
He was the greatest baseball player who ever lived and it's only fitting that he be remembered here where he grew up and signed his first contract to play professional ball. Expanded in 1983 to be the Baltimore Orioles' official museum, over 60,000 fans visit annually
